Woah.
Logging in to SpotRacers today you’ll find some differences in your garage. As mentioned earlier this week, it looks as though the developers have rolled out the balancing changes.
The news item reads:
There is a big balancing test going on of ALL SpotRacers 📊🚗🚙🚓🚚🚐
It has been a long-standing issue, that some SpotRacers were overpowered, making some races unfair. With this change, we are adjusting base stats to narrow the gap between the best and worst SpotRacers. The top SpotRacers will still be the best, but the difference will be smaller. This change will give more SpotRacers a better chance, with the right build and driver skills.
You might already see this on your SpotRacer’s stats, which may have been nerfed or buffed.
We have also changed how the SpotRacer’s star rating works. Now the rating is directly linked to the base stats of the SpotRacer and shows if it is high or low-performing in relation to other SpotRacers of the same brand (e.g. Fendo). This will make it easier for the players to see how good a SpotRacer is.
We will also use Garage levels as race restrictions, adding nuance to the race field.
So dive in! Explore the new specs and discover new strategies for building your SpotRacers!! 👨🏭
Interestingly the word “test” is included in the title which may suggest the changes could be reverted if it doesn’t pan out.
There is no denying these changes are pretty significant and probably won’t go down well with some players. As mentioned previously, the reasoning behind this is to level out the race track and hopefully keep SpotRacers going.
Time will tell of course. Let’s see how it pans out over the next few weeks.
