What is SpotRacers?

SpotRacers is a mobile racing game with a unique twist. Use your phone’s camera to scan real cars, then race them virtually against friends or challenge yourself in time trials. Build your dream garage, customize your rides, and climb the leader board!

Why doesn’t the SpotRacer look like the real vehicle I scanned?

Here’s why your scanned car might not look exactly like its in-game digital counterpart:

Matching Multitudes: The SpotRacer scanner is impressive, recognizing thousands of real-world cars! But the game itself features a smaller set of unique SpotRacers, around 120. When you scan a car, the game assigns the closest match from those available. Sometimes, several real cars share a similar design, so it’s not always a perfect fit.

Rights & Restrictions: There are also legal considerations around car designs and trademarks. The developers might need to avoid using specific designs to avoid any legal issues.

The good news? The SpotRacers team is constantly adding new cars to the game. So, the perfect match for your scanned car might just be around the corner!

What are tools, parts and greens?

In SpotRacers, you’ll collect three key resources to pimp out your rides and dominate the competition: tools, parts, and greens. Let’s break down what each does:

Tools & Parts: These are the nuts and bolts of upgrading your SpotRacers. Every upgrade you make requires a specific amount of each, and the quantities increase as your cars level up and gain stars. Think of them as the essential ingredients for a high-performance machine! You can also get parts by scrapping unwanted SpotRacers.

Greens: This is the in-game currency you use to shop for cool stuff. Greens let you buy tools, extra parking spaces for your growing car collection, and all sorts of sweet cosmetic customizations to make your SpotRacers truly unique. They even come in handy if you want to remove those pesky cooldowns and get back to racing faster.

By collecting these resources through gameplay, you’ll be well on your way to building a garage full of unstoppable SpotRacers!

Why does the spotter shot counter show five shots but I can only use four?

Ah, that sneaky fifth shot counter can be a bit confusing! Here’s the deal:

You start out with four daily Spotter shots.

If you use your Spotter and scan a car every single day for five days in a row, you’ll unlock a bonus fifth shot.

But here’s the catch: to keep that fifth shot, you need to maintain your streak by scanning a car at least once every day. If you miss a day, it resets back to four shots.

So, the counter shows you the potential for five shots, but it’s a little reward for consistent scanning!

I’ve found a vehicle not in the database. Can I add it?

Spot a New Ride? Add it to the Database! We’re always looking for ways to improve the SpotRacers Fanbase database, and that includes adding new entries for vehicles you encounter. Here’s how to contribute:

Head over to the database: You’ll find a convenient submission form right there.

Fill in the details: Tell us all about the real-world vehicle you spotted, including its make and model, the SpotRacer you gained and it’s base stats. You can also enter any other relevant info to aid other players.

Submit your entry: Our team will review it and, once verified, add it to the database to help out fellow SpotRacers!

Can you play with friends?

Currently, you can race your friends in SpotRacers! Here’s how:

Friend Codes: Add friends using unique codes. Once they accept, you might race each other in events where you’re both in the same division.

Quick Races: This is another chance to bump into your friends on the racetrack.

SpotRacers is planning to crank up the multiplayer action even further in the future with features like:

Head-to-Head: Race against a chosen friend directly, bragging rights on the line!

Crews: Team up with your friends and work together to dominate race seasons!

These features were delayed because of a technical hurdle, but the developers are working hard to bring them to the game soon.

Do I have to spend real money?

You can absolutely enjoy SpotRacers without spending a cent! While there’s an in-game shop with items that will help you progress your vehicles, they’re completely optional. Just by playing the game, you’ll earn plenty of rewards to progress your vehicles.

How do I get more SpotRacers?

Build your car collection by scanning real cars!

Grab your phone: Open SpotRacers and tap the camera icon.

Line up a real car: Make sure the camera can clearly see the vehicle. (Don’t worry, the game doesn’t track owners or locations!)

“Spot” it! The game will use the car’s brand, model, and colour to identify it.

Welcome your new ride! If recognized, the car will be added to your collection as one of the 118 SpotRacers.

Want more options? You can also build SpotRacers using parts you collect in-game. Each car needs a parking space, which you get more of as you level up or by purchasing them in the shop.

Heads up: not all vehicles are scannable. The Spotter won’t recognize buses, tractors, trailers, military vehicles, motorcycles, or mopeds.

I can’t find this SpotRacer. Help!

Stuck trying to find a SpotRacer? Don’t worry, the SpotRacers Fanbase is here to help! We have a comprehensive database that links real-world vehicles to their corresponding SpotRacers in the game. Just visit the database section of our website to find the car you’re looking for!

Why is the vehicle listed in the database not scanning or is scanning a different SpotRacer?

We’ve built a massive database to help you track down those elusive SpotRacers in the real world. But with over 4,000 entries, sometimes things can go awry. Here’s why you might not be scanning the car you expect:

We’re a Team, Not Machines: A small crew of humans keeps this database updated and we do make mistakes! If you find something wrong, don’t hesitate to leave a comment in the database – your feedback helps us stay on top of things.

SpotRacers Evolves: The SpotRacers team might occasionally adjust which real-world cars unlock specific SpotRacers in-game. This can make our database outdated in some cases.

If you run into a mismatch, let us know! We appreciate your help in keeping the database spot-on and helping you build your dream garage.
